Fund fee drag calculator (TER)

One percent sounds like rounding. Over twenty years it is not, and most of what it takes is not the fee itself.

You put in
€82,000
Before fees
€196,665
After fees
€171,714
Taken by the charge
€24,951
12.7% of the final balance

The charge removes more than the money deducted. Each year’s fee would otherwise have stayed invested and compounded for every remaining year, so what is lost is a slice of all the future growth that money would have produced — which is why the gap widens rather than staying proportional.

The full breakdown, including what the TER does not cover, is in what a 1% TER actually costs you over 20 years.
