The Revolut mistake is exporting the wrong account. Your investing account is separate from the current account you spend from, and the statement most people reach for first is the bank one — which contains no trades at all.
Where the investing export is
In the Invest section of the Revolut app, not with your bank statements. Revolut offers the investment account statement as both CSV and PDF; take the CSV. Set the period to cover the whole life of the account rather than the default recent window.
The words Revolut uses
Revolut writes both a plain and an order-type form, and a file can contain both:
- Buy and Sell, or Buy - Market and Sell - Market depending on the row.
- Dividend — the payment received.
- Cash Top-Up and Cash Withdrawal — your own money moving, not returns.
- Custody fee — the account charge.
- Stock split — share count changes, money does not.
Stock splits are the one to watch
A split row changes how many shares you hold without any cash changing hands. Counted as a purchase it invents a position you never bought and wrecks the average cost; ignored entirely, your share count stops matching the app. It is a genuine adjustment and has to be handled as one.
Fractional shares
Revolut deals heavily in fractional shares, so quantities arrive with many decimal places. Rounded to whole shares anywhere in the chain, a holding of 0.4 shares becomes nothing at all, and small positions vanish without any error being raised.
What to check once it is in
- Your smallest fractional holding — it should still exist.
- Any stock that has split while you held it, against the share count in the app.
- Total dividends for a past year, and that top-ups are not counted as gains — see what your real return is when you keep adding money.
HaboFi reads the Revolut investing export as it downloads, including both the plain and market forms of buy and sell, and keeps fractional quantities at full precision. CSV or Excel, no broker login and no API key — a file you downloaded yourself, and nothing that keeps reading your account afterwards.
